The contour, color and alignment of your teeth can be changed by such cosmetic techniques as whitening, bonding, veneers, and inlays. Imagine how good you'll look with a bright, new, healthy smile.

Tooth Whitening - A simple, safe, and very effective way to brighten and enhance your smile is to professionally whiten your teeth. We achieve excellent results and the highest patient satisfaction with either our 1-hour laser whitening or our overnight whitening systems. A brighter smile makes a brighter you.

Bonding - Restores chipped, cracked, mis-colored, or misaligned teeth by rebuilding the surface with a durable and natural looking resin material.

Porcelain Laminate Veneers - A wonderful solution to correct or camouflage severe discolorations, misaligned teeth, poor smile designs, chips, cracks and unattractive teeth. Porcelain veneers are natural looking, custom made and durable.

Wisdom Teeth - Wisdom teeth, or third molars, are generally the final teeth to develop. Many people have four wisdom teeth, one in each corner of the mouth. They usually emerge during our late teens or early twenties. Often times, wisdom teeth become trapped, or impacted, in the jawbone and cause crowding, displacement, decay, infection, gum disease, and pain. When these problems do occur, removal is usually indicated.

To ease any discomfort following oral surgery (tooth removal):

  • Use Ice packs on the cheek to minimize swelling, alternating on and off every ten minutes.
  • Apply biting pressure with clean gauze to stop bleeding.
  • Eat soft foods and drink extra liquids.
  • Avoid hard or crunchy foods in the tender area.
  • Brush carefully the day after surgery.
  • Take prescribed medications and follow all instructions as directed.
  • Return to The Dental Center for follow up care.

Bridges - Few incidents have greater impact on dental health and personal appearance than tooth loss. When one or more teeth are missing, the remaining teeth can drift out of position, which can lead to embarrassment, a change in the bite, the loss of additional teeth, decay and gum disease. A bridge is one option to replace missing teeth by permanently affixing a fake tooth or teeth to the adjacent teeth.

Sensitive Teeth - If you occasionally experience a sudden flash of pain, or a mild tingly feeling when you bite into sweet or sour foods, or drink hot or cold beverages, you may have sensitive teeth. Pain from sensitive teeth is not always constant; it can come and go. Constant pain could be a sign of a more serious problem. It is still important, however, to discuss your symptoms with your dentist to determine the cause and proper treatment.

What causes sensitive teeth? - In healthy teeth, porous tissue called dentin is protected by your gums and your teeth's hard enamel shell. Microscopic holes in the dentin, called tubules, connect back to the nerve triggering pain when irritated by certain foods and beverages. Dentin can be exposed by:

    • Receding gums caused by improper brushing or gum disease.
    • Fractured or chipped teeth.
    • Clenching or grinding your teeth.

What can be done about sensitive teeth?

Depending on the diagnosis, your dentist may recommend one or more of the following treatments to relieve the symptoms of sensitive teeth.

    • A soft bristle toothbrush to protect gums.
    • A special toothpaste for sensitive teeth that can either block access to the nerve or insulate the nerve itself.
    • A fluoride rinse or gel, prescribed by your dentist.

Root Canal Treatment - If your tooth's nerve becomes infected by decay or is the tooth is fractured as a result of an injury, root canal treatment is often the only way to save your tooth. Inside your tooth is the pulp consisting of blood vessels, lymph vessels and nerves. Root Canal Treatment is a procedure to remove the pain and discomfort associated with the infected nerve without having to remove the tooth. Today's Root Canal Treatment is painless and may take only one appointment to complete. Due to modern dental advances in pain control, this is drastically different than in the past.
